      <image:caption>Yahaira Lawrence is a fiction writer. She has been awarded fellowships and received support from Ox-Bow, Kimbilio, Ucross Foundation, Monson Arts, Atlantic Center for the Arts, Tin House, MacDowell and the Rona Jaffe Foundation among others. Her work has appeared in Kweli Journal. She’s currently working on a novel and a collection of short stories that focus on her Black and Latino culture and her upbringing in the South Bronx. She lives in New York. Yahaira is a book publishing professional with over 15 years of experience in a range of editorial and production roles and as a freelance proofreader.
